What is the ASSURE Model?
It is a systematic instructional design approach to developing learning with media and techology. To ASSURE student learning an instructor performs six steps that incorporate computer technology and other media into his/her teaching. The model was developed by Sharon Smaldino, Deborah Lowther and James Russell and is explained in their book, Instructional Technology and Media for Learning, Ninth Edition, published by Pearson Education, Inc. Below is a graphical representation of the six ASSURE phases.
